Our History
Committed to Making a Difference
The Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) student chapter at Jackson State University’s Department of Technology has been active for many years. In 2010, the JSU student chapter was awarded the “Outstanding Student Chapter”. This was in recognition of the chapter’s growing membership, community service initiatives (e.g. Red Cross fund raising Haitian Earthquake, MS Blood Services blood drives, MS Children’s Defense Fund, etc.), professional development activities (e.g. Technology Feast: Career Preparation and Informational Seminar, attendance to the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference (BEYA), and student presentations at ATMAE conferences. In 2014, the ATMAE JSU Student Chapter continues to thrive both at the undergraduate and graduate levels and works diligently to uphold the ideals of ATMAE.

There are a number benefits to being a member of ATMAE. ATMAE keeps you abreast of current industrial and technological trends such as the latest advancements in robotics and automation, manufacturing processes, progressive graphic designs, and much more. ATMAE also provides information on employment opportunities (fulltime and internship) and graduate programs.
In addition, ATMAE provides opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in robotics and graphic design competitions. Graduate students may also participate in research competition. These competitions are held at the annual ATMAE Conference in cities such as Nashville, TN, Louisville, KY, Pittsburg, PA, Panama City, FL, Cleveland, OH, New Orleans, LA, and St. Louis, MO.
